Ganesh Festival

Ganesh Festival, especially in Maharashtra, is celebrated for 10 days. It starts from the date of Ganesh Chaturthi which falls on the Chaturthi (fourth day) of the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon period) in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada. The last day is Anant Chaturdashi which falls ten days after, is now-a-days a big event-day when visarjan-sohala (immersion procession) takes place. Typically, this period is in August or September each year.
  • Mark Your calendars for following dates. If you plan to travel to India during these dates, make all efforts to visit Maharashtra (and specifically to Pune or Mumbai) to witness great atmosphere.
This year Ganesh Chaturthi is on Wednesday,  August 31, 2022 and Anant Chaturdashi on Friday, September 9th , 2022.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS for this year.
